Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology and Human Development

Haverford College invites applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology to start in the Fall semester of 2019.
The successful candidate will specialize in developmental psychology (broadly defined), and should have completed the Ph.D. by the time of the appointment in July 2019. Candidates from all specializations within developmental psychology and human development are encouraged to apply. Haverford College values candidates whose research, teaching, or mentoring will engage issues of diversity and inclusion. Possible areas of scholarship include, but are not limited to, applied developmental psychology; research on social, educational, and health disparities in development; the effects of early adversity on development; or the study of development in disadvantaged, vulnerable, or marginalized populations. The ideal candidate will be able to teach effectively at all levels of the psychology curriculum, including courses in the candidate's area of expertise and the supervision of undergraduate student research. The candidate should promptly establish an independent and productive research program that can meaningfully include undergraduates in the research process.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
