Camp Assistant Aquatics Director


  • Be positive, motivational and a leader to Team members
  • Catch Team members doing something great and let them know about it
  • Ensure and enforce pool safety at all times
  • Supervise all swim lessons
  • Evaluate camper swimming abilities
  • Complete weekly progress reports
  • Prepare awards for completed swim levels
  • Coordinate the recording of camper swim progress
  • Help the Leadership Team conduct Weekly Team Meetings
  • Schedule and set up Enrichment swim lessons
  • Supervise Team members working enrichment swim lessons
  • Conduct mid-summer and end of summer Team member evaluations
  • Conduct end of summer exit interviews with each Team member
  • Fulfill additional duties that may be assigned by the Site Director
  • Assist and support the Site Director in any camp operation or activity
  • Enforce and maintain the ESF look
  • Ensure overall supervision of Aquatics Team, pool area and equipment
  • Enforce paper work free zone
  • Direct and supervise all camp groups/teams/tribes at the pool
  • Communicate with parents/guardians either through written and/or verbal contract
  • Identify and meet camper needs
  • Coordinate daily swim schedule
  • Provide alternative behavior management techniques
  • Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment and facilities
  • Review agenda for Weekly Team Meeting
  • Provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being among the camp family and Team members
  • Perform pool maintenance duties and complete water logs
  • Be present at pool at all times
  • Record any incident concerning any occurrence at the pool
  • Make sure instructors are prepared each day to teach swimming skills
  • Know and understand each swimming skill level and the skills that are taught
  • Buddy Checks are being performed according to ESF Policy


  • B. A./B. S. Degree preferred
  • Current Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR certifications
  • WSI certification preferred
  • Proven leadership/management experience required
  • Pool Management experience preferred
  • Experience teaching swim lessons at all levels
  • Classroom teaching experience preferred; not required
  • Behavior management experience with children
  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills
  • Organized, detail oriented, team player
  • Fun, outgoing, motivational

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
